Krishna Das Kirtan!!

I’m really beginning to fall in love with kirtan (rhythmic and devotional call and response chanting of sacred mantras).  Last night I had the absolute pleasure of seeing Krishna Das live  at Jivamukti performing to benefit Ananda Ashram. The feeling from the music, from coming together and singing, is an extraordinary high. I felt an absolute rush, and as I reflect right now I see that I was totally, ecstatically happy from chanting. The room was electrically charged and the effect was intense. I can’t believe how powerful it is to release your inhibitions and sing your heart out, swaying to the music in a sea of devoted listeners. The energy in the performance was so uplifting and freeing. I think I love kirtan!
